Nostalgia Series

HomeNostalgia Series

On the Black Sage Bench in Oliver BC, vintner and family farmer Gina Fernandes Harfman combines her passion for winemaking with her family’s four generations of experience farming the South Okanagan terroir, to put forth a small lot lineup of wines that perfectly exemplify their vintage. At her woman-owned and run Nostalgia Wines, Gina invites you to make moments with what she has captured in the bottle and create tomorrow’s memories.

Pinot Gris 2022

Nostalgia’s dry, medium-bodied Pinot Gris is a bottled Okanagan memory of walking through the blossoms of orchards, enjoying fresh peaches, apples and pears.

Enjoy chilled with prosciutto-wrapped cantaloupe, spiced shrimp with peach salsa, or a pork chop skillet with pears and red onions.

Kerner 2022

Our off-dry Kerner is like sunshine in a glass with notes of apricot, peach, mandarin, pineapple and lime zest. Kerner is happy by herself or alongside dishes with exotic flavours, such as Pad Thai or Moroccan Chicken.

Do you know Kerner? She’s part of the Riesling family. Although Kerner makes up less than 1% of BC’s total grapevine plantings, at Nostalgia Wines we grow more Kerner in our home vineyard than any other grape, making Kerner our top seller! We love Kerner, and know you will too.

Although 2022 was cool to start, it enjoyed blue skies throughout the growing season and the sunny warm days of late summer and early fall ushered in outstanding fruit quality. 2022 Kerner was sourced from our Home Vineyard exclusively. All hand picked then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vessels.

Viognier 2021

Let Viognier’s exotic allure carry you away with each sip.

Her tropical perfume of apricot, mango, pineapple, mandarin and peach is intoxicating. On the palate, this rich, full white reflects the intense heat of 2021. The lingering, concentrated finish of candied peaches and mangoes is part of her lasting charm.

We love Viognier with sushi, scallops, or Chicken a l’Orange.

Merlot 2019

The bold, bright nose of this seductive Merlot is the warmest welcome of our home vineyard, planted in 2006.

Dark cherries, ripe plums, cocoa, caramel, baking spices and toasty oak complexity draw you in, and the wine pours over your palate with a round, rich intensity balanced by fresh acidity and firm tannins.

This well structured Merlot will love hard, aged cheese. It also begs to be paired with a hearty protein dish, such as roast beef or lamb.

Technical:
100% Merlot (Home Vineyard, Oliver)
Aged 15 months in oak barriques (French and American)

Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Seductive black currant, blackberry, dark plum, sage, and spice aromas abound from this complex, harmonious wine.

Appetizing acidity and a full texture create structure, while notes of small dark berry fruit, cocoa, coffee, earth and graphite add intrigue and persist on the finish. Pairing ideas include veal, wild game, mushroom dishes, or aged cheese.

The 2021 season had a reduced yield, resulting in an intensely flavourful harvest. All hand-picked and crushed on the day of picking. This Cab is sourced from the Harfman family vineyards on the Osoyoos East bench, a property ending with the U.S. border fence – as far South as possible and benefiting from the moderating influence of Osoyoos Lake. This allows maximum ripeness in this Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, which was established in 1999. Aged in oak barriques for 15 months.

Technical:
89.8% Cabernet Sauvignon (Harfman Vineyard, Osoyoos) 5.1% Malbec (Gablemann Vineyard, Oliver), 5.1% Merlot (Home Vineyard, Oliver and Harfman Vineyard, Osoyoos
Aged 15 months in oak barriques (French and American)
Vegetarian/Vegan. Keto/diabetic diet friendly.
