Award Winners at Nostalgia Wines 8th Annual Show, Shine ‘n’ Wine

Nostalgia Wines hosted its 8th Annual Show, Shine ‘n’ Wine on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Keeping in the lighthearted spirit, our Show, Shine ‘n’ Wine awards are meant to enhance the day and put the spotlight on a few chosen vehicles that pre-registered to take part in the show! We couldn’t have the great day without all the sexy, classic cars!

Nostalgia Wines worked with Bandit Laser to create 10 unique trophies. Our wine bottles were engraved with the 8th Annual Show, Shine ‘n’ Wine logo, creating a special keepsake for all award winners. Doug Blatchford of the Oliver Coachmasters Car Club volunteered to assist owner/winemaker, and classic car enthusiast Gina Fernandes Harfman with the selection of winners.

A big thank you from Team Nostalgia to all the cars who pre-registered and came out to take part in our Show, Shine ‘n’ Wine! Make sure to sign up for our newsletter to receive invitations to all of our fantastic events!

Here are the Show, Shine ‘n’ Wine Award Winners:

  1. Best Wine Tour Car – Judges were looking for a car they’d choose for a day out in the South Okanagan.
Winner: Eugene Dettling and his 1951 Mercury Monarch “The Bootlegger.” A natural choice for filling up the car with bottles!
  2. Best Beer Drinking Car – For our friends at Firehall Brewing, we were looking for a car perfect for a cooler in the back for some cold brews, and a bit of edge!
Winner: Les Anderson and his 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Station Wagon.
  3. Rockabilly Car Award – The Wheelgrinders, the rockabilly band that played our car show, were in charge of selecting the winner for this award. They were looking for the best car to fit all the gear for a classic rockabilly band, so the cargo space was key!
Winner: Luisa and Howard Crook and their 1956 Chevrolet Nomad.
  4. Ms. Behavin Car Award – Named after one of Nostalgia’s wines, we were looking for a vehicle with a bit of naughty flair.
Winner: Tim and Patti McBryan’s 1939 Pontiac Gasser “Two Door Tee Pee.”
  5. Chantilly Lace Award – This award, named after our sparkling wine, required a winner with a lot of fun and a little sparkle.
Winner: Bill Anderson’s 1964 Ford Galaxie.
  6. Boogie Woogie Award – A movin’ and groovin’ car was required to take home this award, named after our dancing white blend.
    Winner: Cheryl MacLeod’s 1969 Oldsmobile Delta 88
  7. The Bandit Award – Garry from Bandit Laser, the sponsor of the car awards, selected this award. It was the car he dreamed of during high school!
Winner: Tom Dunn’s 1970 Pontiac GTO, aka “G.O.A.T.”
  8. The Girls Award – This award is picked by the Girls of team Nostalgia – a car perfect for the whole team.
Winner: The Winters and their 1970 El Camino, towing a 1955 Halett wooden boat with twin blown 327 motors
  9. The Rotary Club Award – An award chosen by our volunteer and charitable partners in the Rotary Club.
Winner: Warren Woods’ 1965 Ford Cobra.
  10. Most Nostalgic – We love all things Nostalgia here, so Gina chose a car that shone to her as a beautiful memory.
    Winner: Grant Chitty’s 1928 Ford Model A

Thank you to all the vehicle owners for joining us for a great day at Nostalgia Wines — we had such a fun day with our community.
